Logistics
Q.Do you tutor online or in person?
Both. Online sessions run over Zoom; in-person lessons happen in and around Windsor, UK.
Q.How long is each session?
Standard sessions are 50 minutes.
Q.What ages do you tutor?
Years 1 to 13 — ages roughly 5 to 18 — from early readers through to A-Level.
Q.Where do you teach in person?
In and around Windsor. Home visits are available too, subject to distance — get in touch and I'll let you know if you're within range.
Q.What subjects do you cover?
Reading & Comprehension, Creative Writing, 11+ Preparation, GCSE English Language and Literature, and A-Level English Literature.
Money and booking
Q.How much do you charge?
Online lessons start from £28 an hour: £28/hr for Years 1–10, £32/hr for GCSE, and £36/hr for A-Level. In-person home visits around Windsor are available subject to distance — ask me for a quote. The first 15-minute parent chat is always free.
Q.What's the cancellation policy?
At least 24 hours' notice for a refund or reschedule. Anything cancelled inside 24 hours is charged at the full lesson rate. Full detail is in the Terms of Service.
Q.How do I book?

Q.Do you take card?
No, invoices are paid by bank transfer. Sofia sends an invoice with payment details after lessons.
How the portal works
Q.How does the messaging portal work?
Parents sign in with their family email and an 8-character parent code Sofia gives them. Younger students sign in with the same family email and a 4-emoji code. Sixth-formers sign in with their own email and password. Parents and students have separate, private threads with Sofia — neither sees the other's.
Q.Why emoji codes for younger students?
Because tapping four emojis is easier and more memorable for a seven-year-old than typing a password. It also means there's no email address or login to forget.
Q.Can my child message Sofia between lessons?
Yes — that's the point. Stuck on homework, half-finished essay, quick question, photo of a tricky paragraph — drop it in and Sofia will pick it up.
Q.Is the messaging private?
Yes. Only Sofia and the linked family can see each thread. We use Google Firebase in the EU (London region) for data storage and Vercel for hosting. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
The free 15-minute parent chat is genuinely free and there's no pressure to book a lesson after. Honest answers, no sales pitch.
